Whole Wheat Dinner Roll
Soft and fluffy homemade dinner roll
Ingredients
- 2 ⅔ cup Korean whole wheat flour 400g
- 1 tsp instant yeast 4g
- 2 tbsp honey 40g
- ⅔ cup milk
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 ⅔ tbsp unsalted butter 25g
- olive oil
- milk and butter a little bit for the top
Instructions
- Warm the water and milk together then add instant yeast and a tablespoon of sugar to activate the yeast.
- Mix in the eggs and honey.
- In a separate bowl, mix in the sugar and salt to the flour.
- Slowly add yeast mixture to the flour mixture while stirring with the spatula. Let it rise for 15 minutes.
- Add soften butter to the dough.
- Let it rise until the dough double in size. (Around 2 hours)
- Punch the dough to release the air. Knead the dough a few times and let it rise again until the size of the dough doubles. (Around 1 1/2 hours)
- Divide the dough into 12 and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Roll each doughs and put them on the pan. Let it rest until the dough doubles in size. (Around 1 hour)
- Brush some milk over the rolls.
- Bake at 340F oven for about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the rolls are done, take it out of the oven and brush some butter on top.
